The TACT class which began on Jan. 5, 2009 for me is a two day per week program that I have been attending and will be attending back for the second round.  The TACT class which has been led by Patrick Smith, a great Personal Traner and athlete, takes a total approach to fitness including conditioning in power, strentgh, endurance, core stability and flexibility.  The program is designed in a very efficient and effective manner. Class starts with body preperation movements to prevent injuries then we typically start with a circuit workout engaging most major muscle groups.  After we get warmed up we amp it up on the treadmills for a good sweat and quick cardio exercise.

That's just the beginning. Next is where we really get beat! Patrick always has a new routine written out for the class and it never fails to challenge us.  The routines involve multiple exercises designed to recruit all of our muscle groups to work.  The types of exercises range from modified push-upsto advanced kettle-bell workouts.  The best part about TACT that sets this program apart from any other classes I have attended is the thorough and precise attention you recieve from our instructor Patrick.  He is always making sure proper form and techniques are being used with all of the members.  If he sees that we are making a mistake he does a great job correcting us and answering any questions we have.

This class is exactly what I have been looking for to help me achieve the fitness goals that I want.  Through completion of just the first half of the program, TACT has increased my overall strenght and pwer, improved my cardio efficiency, increased flexibility through a greater range of motion, and increased my lean muscle mass.  Also my knowledge and understanding of fitness is much greater through working with Patrick and other members of TACT.  I feel this is even a better option than individual personal training sessions because here you are still closely monitored by a Personal Trainer but you are more apt to push yourself because of the team based atmosphere.  Also with the team aspect you get support from both sides, the trainer instructing you and members participating in the same activities and struggles you are in.
